Visited on 7/8/2017 – Picture taken on a weekend
camping trip in our Truck Camper with Jeff and our dogs, Summer and Skye, we
camped at Boca Reservoir, but visited Stampede Reservoir during Saturday afternoon
for the day. Summer and Skye loved
playing the retrieve the stick game at the edge of the lake in the shade just
west of the boat ramp. This 3,450 acre lake
in the Tahoe National Forest of Sierra County, California is approximately 15
miles northeast of Truckee, CA. Stampede
Reservoir is at an elevation of 5,949 feet above sea level. Stampede Reservoir is a beautiful high Sierra
lake, popular with anglers and water sports enthusiasts. We plan to come back to this wonderful lake and explore more with our boat soon.
View from the area where Jeff and enjoyed the afternoon, we brought our lawn chairs and ate
lunch near the shoreline. We spent several hours playing at this great location on the west side of the boat ramp. A couple of guys were fishing just off to the left of us about 100 yards up the shore. A couple other families were enjoying the afternoon with their dogs as well. All was good until Summer tried to retrieve their stick instead of hers!
Fetching the stick together, which is
their favorite game in this nice cool lake.
