Tamarack Lake - El Dorado County, California
Visited on 7/2/2017 –
Jeff and I took the dogs in the Jeep with the top off on an all-day hike to the
Echo Lakes area and into the Desolation Wilderness to visit several lakes that
day, including Tamarack Lake. Jeff
decided to stay at Tamarack Lake with the dogs for the afternoon after our
lunch break lakeside. Tamarack Lake is
located 10 miles southwest of Lake Tahoe at elevation 7,800 feet above sea
level. Tamarack Lake is 1.3 miles up the
trail from Upper Echo Lake. It was a
picture perfect beautiful summer day, not a cloud in the sky and a high of 81
degrees.

Another camera shot
for the photo contest! Southeastern end
of the Tamarack Lake where we took our lunch break to eat our yummy homemade
ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle deli sandwiches and chips. The dogs had their lunch as well. Jeff decided it was such a beautiful spot
that he wanted to hang out the afternoon and relax with the dogs by this
lake. I commented to Jeff that this Lake
and the ice covering it was what “dreams are made of”! Loved it and would like to come back later in
the summer months to see the Lake without the snow and ice build-up on it.
This was my view for lunch. Magnificent!
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed our lunch at this Lake as well. It was very nice and peaceful.
